Hans Wegner

Description

Made in solid teak and newly reupholstered in fine wool, this armchair was designed around 1950 by Hans Wegner. It was exhibited at the 1951’s Copenhagen Cabinet-makers’ Guild Exhibition in the stand number 14 by the Cabinet Maker Johannes Hansen, along with an oak and teak dining table and some more pieces who himself designed. At the time Hans J. Wegner was 37, a young but already mature designer - ‘Wegner gets better every year, and his influence is felt left, right and centre at the exhibition (D.K.: Erik Lassen).
