Wall-Mounted Wardrobe Carl Auböck

Description

A vintage wall-mounted wardrobe with five detachable hooks and a coat hanger. All designed and made by Carl Auböck II, Vienna, circa 1955.
Not only the shapes, simplicity and patina of this design make it fabulous but the fact that all elements have always been together. The piece is also still super practical as well as aesthetically arresting.
The three 'G'- and two 'S'-shaped hooks are cast brass and finished combining two surface treatments. They are black patinated and polished on their sides. All five stamped with Auböck signature. The frame of the rack is beech and has accumulated a great burnt butter coloured patina. Hanger carved from solid walnut.
