£2,800
Description:
A walnut cigarette box with chrome-plated brass sides and cane wrapped lid.
Designed by Carl Auböck II during the 1950s, cane, wood, and brass elements combine to create this beautifully tactile, functional and elegant cigarette box. These materials have been synonymous with the workshop since the mid-20th century, and are typical of designs of the 2nd generation Carl Auböck who was a student at the Bauhaus.
This cigarette box is in excellent vintage condition, and came to Sigmar wrapped in its original brown paper packaging. The piece was originally intended for export to the US market during the 1950s.
