Model 501 Desk Alvar Aalto

Description

A vintage model 501 desk in birch designed by Alvar Aalto in the 1930s, made by Artek of Finland.

The desk features a black lacquered top four drawers, three shelves/open front drawers behind a tambour door and two pull-out work-surfaces.

The four deep drawers to the left each feature a shapely cut-out which allow access to the ergonomic finger grooves/pull-handles actually at the bottom of each drawer. Two of the drawers are lockable.

The shelves behind the tambour door are also easily removable/adjustable trays/drawers -which gives great access to anything stored within.

Being completely finished, in golden birch, on all sides means the desk would work wonderfully in the middle of a room.
