Pair of Floor Lights Hans Bergström

Description

A graceful pair of floor lights designed by Hans Bergström and made by Ateljé Lyktan (Bergström’s own company) during the 1940s. The lamps are made from polished brass, elm wood, glass and linen. Inspired in equal parts by classicism and modernity the lights are a triumph of Mid-20th Century Swedish design being elegant as well as understated and practical. The level and type of light emitted can be adjusted -the uplighter and standard lights can be 'on' independently or together. The opaline glass diffuser for the uplighters are original whilst the fabric shades are newly made using white linen. Stamped with makers mark on the base. Both lights are in excellent vintage condition.
