"Leaf" Tray #3431
Werkstätte Carl Auböck

£350

Description:

A sand-cast brass ashtray designed during the 1950s by Carl Aubock II.

Originally designed by Carl Auböck II during the 1950s this trinket tray is made by his grandson and great-grandson -Carl Auböck IV and V, respectively. The Carl's operate from the very same workshop in central Vienna, casting from the same positive moulds from which their designs have always been cast. Each piece is meticulously hand finished which results in the objects being brilliantly tactile.

This shallow tray is painted in the workshop's signature patina, a blackened purple-brown hue which only enhances the hand finishes texture of this tactile object as well as its polished edge and rounded accents.
