Brass Ashtray
Carl Auböck

Description

A vintage late-1940s or early-1950s solid cast brass ashtray designed and made by Carl Auböck II in Vienna, Austria. The petite ashtray is extremely organic in shape and tactile, it becomes obvious on picking the piece up that it is meant to be carried and held by the user. The droplet shaped handle allows the ashtray to be effortlessly griped between the fingers similar to how a cigarette is held. Alternatively the bowl sits snugly in the palm of the hand. Boasts a brilliant even patina. Base is stamped Auböck.
