Museum Cabinet England, C.1900
Description
A solid oak museum case built by a cabinetmaker for a museum in London around 1900. The versatile display case features all its original attributes: brass fittings, antique rippled glass, velvet lining as well as later editions such as dog-clips and stickers. The exterior of the cabinet has been restored to show off the impressive wood grain and golden patina whilst the eccentric interior has been left as found. Equally brilliant whether mounted vertically, horizontally or placed on a table top.
