Pair of Oak Bedside Cabinets
Rud Rasmussens Snedkerier
Demark, 1930s
Description:
A pair of bedside cabinets by Rud. Rasmussen, Denmark, 1930s.
Made of solid oak with a wonderful even patina. These cabinets rest on block feet, grounding their slender torsos created through a comfortable slope on their edges. Their forms are bisected into two: two open shelves in the top half allows for ample styling opportunities; and below, the three sizeable drawers beneath with near flush fronts allow one to squirrel away all manner of things!
The existing sticker (on one present in full, on the other only partial) dates these to the 1930s, due to Rasmussens starting his company Rud. Rasmussens Snedkerier in 1930, and the serial number’s hand written nature displaying that this is an early piece.
Substantial but remarkably inviting.
