Portex chair Hvidt & Mølgaard-Nielsen

Description

A rare variation of the Portex chair designed by Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen for Portex in the 1940s, Denmark.
The sculptural frame is carved solid beech, the back rest is formed beech ply lacquered in an original petrol blue colour. Brass spacers can be found between the seat and the frame and capping the end of each leg. Newly upholstered in a flecked high wool content material with burnt-orange-coloured leather piping. Two carver [arm]chairs and one armless side chair available. Price displayed is for the side chair.
