Cuban Mahogany Drawing Table
Denmark, 1940s

£5,800

Description:

A cuban mahogany drawing table with central compartment, side drawer, and reversible lid, made in Denmark by a master cabinetmaker between 1940-1950.

The deep proportions of this elegant piece speak of its concealed history as a drawing table, perfectly suited to the dimensions of large sheets of paper. Traces of this historic use is evident on the reverse of the thick mahogany table top, a surface replete with constellations of ruled lines. This reverse side may be used for everyday work, saving the highly polished surface. The central compartment of the table may also be used to store documents, whilst the neatly concealed side drawer makes stationary quickly accessible.
