Description
A vintage, completely original, Schnapps Set designed and made by Carl Auböck II, Vienna, circa 1950. The set consists of a walnut board and six glasses. Each glass is made of handblown glass with a very high lead content which gives the glass brilliance, weight and a better resilience. A strip of tan leather clads each glass, fitted around the waist about 2/3's the way up. The leather belt is tightly sown with black thread. However, the bands are removable for the purpose of cleaning the glasses. Every glass is etched with the capacity measurement, 0.1l. The carrying tray is carved from a single piece of walnut which boasts an excellent grain and patina. Every piece is in excellent usable condition.
