A walnut and horsehair table sweeper designed by Carl Auböck II during the late 1940s. 

This walnut table sweeper is the height of elevated everyday elegance, and its materials and construction are synonymous with the prestigious Austrian workshop. Typical of the designs of Carl Auböck II, this design is anchored by two materials. In this case, walnut and horse hair, in which the pale, soft brush provides a pleasing contrast against the warm walnut handle and dustpan. 

Indicative of the 2nd Carl Auböck's time spent at the Bauhaus, under the tutelage of Johannes Itten, the functionality of this this table sweeper is the ornament of the piece. It is the simplicity of the materials and tactility of the ergonomic shapes that combine to elevate this elegant everyday essential.
